I am looking for a small dog...

I am looking for a small dog that is easy to train, friendly, and on the quiet side. I do not want a dog that is hper. I am not that young that I can be chasing a hper dog around. I want one that will make a good companion. What breed do you suggest? I want a small dog but not a cuihuahua.

Hi Diane,

I think a poodle would be a good pet for you. They are extremely smart dogs and not hyper, however they do require regular grooming, but they don't shed.  Any puppy you get will be a little bit hyper, so you may want to go for an adult.  
Have you considered adopting a pet from your local humane society?  These pets need good homes and often you can find very nice dogs there.
