dogs stomach

my dog is about 12 years old, with in the past month her stomach has turned from the normal color pink to black the blackness starts at around her belly button and go's all the way down to her legs. i was wondering if it is some sort of disease or something serious?

Hi Timbob,

Thanks for writing to me about your senior dog.  You MUST get her to the vet.  There are a number of skin conditions, not any of them good, that must be treated by a medical professional.  Please note that this condition can be anything from Black Skin Disease, to mold spores, mites, and cancer.  Please if you love your dog, and I think that you do, pay a visit to the vet and get a skin scraping done.
