i have made a mess of clipping my westie she is almost bald will her coat ever grow back again

It WILL grow back, and it will look TONS better in 2 to 3 weeks! Do not despair! Tell your girl that she is pretty and get her a new collar or scarf, and as she grows out, take her to a styling salon and have her hair made even and let her legs and skirt grow out. She'll be cute in no time!
Be careful of sunburn during this growing out period.  In about 3 months she should look great.
