shedding

Hi, I am wanting a female pomeranian. Only problem is I don't want a dog that sheds. I have been told that a female pom only sheds when she goes into heat and after giving birth. So my ? is, if I get her fixed, will that prevent her from shedding?

This is decidedly not true- All dogs shed- some more than others. Some continuously, some seasonally. All dogs need brushing and combing for general health and comfort. Poms are dogs that need this especially when the seasons change. If you are not able to afford having this done on a regular basis- at least 4 times a year and can not do it yourself you should look at other breeds which are not such high maintenance. Poms can get very matted making it necessary to shave them, which affects the quality coat
