Question
I have a cute little Chi name Sky,He hates getting his nails cut.I tried doing it myself to save money but he just won't let me do it. I don't cut any where close to the quick,so I know I'm not hurting him.Could you tell me an easier way I can do it without either of us getting hurt? Or should I just let the Groomers or Vet do it???

Answer
It really isn't all that difficult with most dogs but occasionally you get a lulu. Try using a Dremal- a tool that sands. There is a product being advertised all over the place that has the same premise but from what I have heard and seen it doesn't have alot of power to it so go to a Big Box home center and look for the real deal. A lot of dogs tolerate that alot more.

It all has to do with your confidence and just doing it without making a big deal of it- if you can't get past the drama King, take him a few times to the groomer and get him used to it. Sometimes that's all it takes. If you keep at it while he's freaking out you will have a fearful dog which is impossible to work with so that's not good.
