Question
We live where it gets very hot & humid & in the past I have had our Golden Retriever shaved to abouth the length of a Lab.  She is a short hair retriever, but I think everytime we shave her, it grows back longer.  Anyway, this time, she was shaved almost to the skin & they cut her whiskers along the sides of her mouth. Some say Goldens "need" their coats to stay cool, but should I be concerned about how short she is now & what about the whiskers?

Answer
read the previous answer to question before  yours.
I am not a fan of shaving retrievers - nature gave those coats for a reason- insulation in the winter and protection from the sun in the summer- get the dog a kiddie pool to lay in if she is hot. They are meant to be in the water retrieving.
The whiskers will grow back- but you should learn from this not to give your dog to just anyone. Especially the big box stores who train in-house.
You get what you pay for- especially when it comes to dog grooming.
Keep her out of the sun so she does not get sunburned- use a childs sunblock if you must.

better to groom monthly than shaved down yearly.
