Grooming Yorkie

I just bought a Yorkie. He is 3 years old. He has a full coat @ the front but his hindquarters has very little hair. His previous owner told me that he had a bad experience @ a groomer & that caused the hair in that area to not grow. Is it possible for the hair not to grow back or is it something that I can do? I just always thought that shaved hair grew back but if not could you recommend a good haircut. Thanks so much for your time, I really appreciate it.

A yorkies hair should grow back after a groom. they do not have an undercoat so the hair should come back. A clip that I recommend for easy maintanance on a yorkie is a westie clip. Short on the back, and blended into a long skirt on the bottom. Very cute clip on yorkies! Hope that helps you out!
