Question
How do i keep my jack russell terrier form killing my new kitten? It has already tried to snap her neck!! The dog is about 1.5 years old and i just adopted the kitten last night she is about 8 weeks.

Answer
Hi Kyle
U might have to put the kitten in a crate until the dog knows it is also a house loving pet just as she is.
Also, get a spray bottle of water add a tad bit of vinegar and spray it into her face when she starts to go near the kitten, say a loud firm: NO NO.
U might also want to pinch her nose good and holler at her.  U know the saying cats n dogs do not get along, but I have puppies in homes with cats and adopted adults out in cat homes that adjusted well and my dogs hate cats, they can be taught to leave them alone.  But a kitten is so different than an adult cat. So, your going to have to figure out how to contain the kitten until it grows up some, for the dog will break its neck very quickly.  Especially JR dogs they are a handful to begin with.  Put the dog in a playpen, but then she will probably jump out or keep her in one gaited off room till she realizes u mean business about this.  I hope the Kitten makes it as I have no time for JR dogs.
