Toy Fox Terrier markings

Question

Roxie
I have had my dog Roxie for about 3 1/2 years now and she is quite honestly the most amazing dog I have ever had. She is very inelegant, well behaved, playful, just about everything you would want a dog to be. Now that I have had her for a few years, I am wondering if she is actually the type of dog I had asked for when purchasing her. I bought her from a farm in Iowa and was promised that she was purebred Toy Fox Terrier, and was supposed to receive her papers in the mail the week after I returned home. Well I never received her papers, and it never really bothered me since she was everything I could have expected. When she was a puppy she had small/medium black spots (think dalmatian) but was told by her vet that she would grow out of them. Now that she's almost 4 she has actually seemed to have more. She has every other characteristic of a Toy Fox but I have never seen any other have these spots. If you have any information I would greatly appreciate it!

My first reaction was "With that face who cares what she is!!"

She is just adorable.

Now, here is the AKC description of the breed, and they do note colors other than black.  The part where her coloring is far from the description is in the amount of markings on her body.

Having so many more spots on her body than is described is more likely the result of being poorly bred than being of mixed breeding.

So, my point being that I suspect she's probably all TFT, but neither of her parents were well bred.

Then again, who cares since she's so darned cute !

Here is a picture of my jack russell who does not exactly fit the breed description either, but is a wonderful and amazing fellow.

Thank you for loving Miss Roxie so much !
