Breeding Yorkies

What determines how many puppys the male stud owner gets of the litter? Is there a set amount, how does this process work.

I have no real idea since I don't breed.  I imagine its a negotiation.

I do think that the stud dog's owner usually gets "pick" of the litter - which means they get to pick a puppy first, before anyone else....

whether there are other puppies, or money, involved in the deal is up to the 2 owners.
