Question
QUESTION: How can I keep my brother and sister rat terrior puppies from fighting.  They go at it and it is all we can do to get them apart and then they go right back again.  I am affraid we are going to have to give away one of them if I can't find a way to make them stop fighting.
ANSWER: First off how old are they?  Have they been spayed or nuetered?  What sets them off?  Is it food, toy or is it random?

These are all questions that need to be answered first.

You really need to get with a good trainer. He can help with this issue.  I know first hand how miserable it can be to have to keep them separated.  Its no way to live.

Talk to a few trainers in your town and see what they can do for you.  I HAD to get rid of one because of fighting.  She really hurt her mother.  Of course it happened on a sunday when I had to take her to emergency room.

Good Luck,\
Tammy

QUESTION: My puppies ar approx. 3 months old.  I haven't had them spayed or nuetered yet. The puppies tend to only fight when we have them out of the pin and both are being played with.  The boy belongs to my son and I have the girl. We don't play with them together. Mostly I will be holding mine in my lap when the little boy wants to attack her. I don't want to have to get rid of one of them. They do fine together when neither is getting any attention from us.

Answer
WOW at such a young age!!!!  The problem is only going to get worse.......Find a local trainer IMEDIATELY!  Or just plan now to get rid of one now.

Sorry I can't be of much help unless I actually was able to see the behaviors and what is actually setting them off.

Good Luck,
Tammy
