Question
My puppy has been jumping and running, but lately he just stops and holds his back leg up or shivers while holding it up. He sits funny now and there doesn't seem to be anything stuck between his toes, or broken, but he will just stop. I am not sure what to do as he is usually very active.  Please help.

Answer
Anna -

Take your baby to the vet as soon as you can.  Cairns are faily prone to problems with their patellas (knee caps) especially when they have veen raising too much heck.  There also some developmental problems that can happen.

You may want to keep him from jumping down off furniture til he can be seen.

Cairns do not show pain much, so if he's acting this way, something is ouchy.

Let me know how you make out.
