Cairn Terrier SEARCH

I am looking for a Female Cairn Terrier for my cousin, she is 65 years old and lost her dog recently (old age) she told me she wants a Black Female Cairn Terrier preferable under 1 year old. Buying one is what we have been looking to do but found nothing in NJ, any help would be apprciated and rewarded.

I cannot give you resources for buying a cairn, but would strongly recommend you consider a rescue.

There are several cairn rescues, but I am a volunteer with the largest - Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network, and their website is at

Just be aware that all of the cairn rescues I am familiar with are very thorough in the adoption process, unlike shelters. Shelters just don't have the human resources to check references and do home visits like rescues do.  These rescues are very careful to match the right cairn for the adopter.
