Urinating

Question
Hello Patt,
we have a little West Highland Terrier and he is 6 month old by now. He is a lovely little dog, very sprity and interested in everything.
Unfortunately we have a problem with him continuing to urinate in the house. It gradually gets better but he keeps on urinating next to my wife Chris. What we find confusing is  that he does that in an absolute calm situation where he is not scared by a loud sudden noise or that he needs to go to the loo at all. Last night when it happened he just went outside 20 min earlier.
In the past I told him off for this but I don't believe that this is doing any good, instead we speak calmly to him and cuddle him. We have another Westie, george is 8 years by now and they get on very well.
Is there any explanation why Leon does that with Chris once per week but never with me?
Your help would be appreciated.
Regards

Rainer

Answer
HELLO RAINER
JEALOUSLY COULD BE ONE REASON.
LIFT THE WATER BOWEL AT SIX P.M.
FEED AT 4 P.M TAKE OUT LATE AS POSSIBLE AT BEDTIME AND WAIT.
PET AND PRAISE, IGNORE THIS AND CLEAN WITH BLEACH AND WARM WATER.
DO NOT SIT IN THAT AREA, CHANGE TO ANOTHER ROOM OR PLACE.
I FEEL IT IS ATTENTION GETTER.
DOGS ARE SMART AND THEY WILL DO ANYTHING TO GET THAT EXTRA POINT.
IGNORE, MOVE AND LIFT THE WATER AT SIX.

WARM REGARDS
PATT
