pit bull breed ban

Hello,
I am the owner of an awesome Pit Bull mix pup. He is loving, friendly, social, and a great pet. Bela has NEVER ever shown any aggression towards anyone or anything, is well socialized around other dogs and constantly meeting new people and animals. We also take him to a professional trainer and are in general really good parents to a perfect puppy.

Here is my problem. I live in Denver, CO. In May 2004, Denver lifted their breed ban on Pit Bull's (or really any dog remotely resembling a pit). Right after that we found a our puppy and fell in love. He was a few weeks old and perfect. When we got him he was legal and fine. Now I am finding out that Denver has sued the state of Colorado and are reinstating the breed ban. This means our friendly pup will soon be illegal and the city is more than excited to kill him if they see him. I own a house and we have a well fenced in yard. Bela is always well supervised and is never a problem. All my neighbors are also really great and love Bela. I just don't want the Denver Dog Nazi's coming onto my property and taking my dog for no reason.

What can I do? I don't want to sell my house and move because of all of this. It is ridiculous that they can have a law, remove it, then reinstate it, then threaten to kill innocent life. I am extremely interested in fighting the Denver breed ban that will soon be reinstated. Are there lawyers that champion this cause? I will work hard and long if needed to lobby against this outrageous series of events. Please help, what can I do?

As you must know breed bans don't work, are unfair and actually unconstitutional! Why are good innocent animals discriminated against and slaughtered.

Sorry i am unable to help u as i am from South Africa and are not at all fimiliar with the laws of your country. It is sad what u have told me and we are very lucky here as there is no ban on apbt here. Please let me know of the outcome if u don't mind
