Question
I have an 11 month old male mini foxie, we're thinking of getting him a little brother. We have been told not too as they will destroy our house (inside dogs). Our 11 month old doesnt destroy any of our stuff and happily plays with his toys, very well behaved. We dont have a big yard at all either. I want to get one for company so he isnt lonely???

Answer
Hi Rebecca.  I am assuming that the advice your received that, "they will destroy your house", was referring to having two inside dogs, and not specifically that two Miniature Fox Terriers will destroy your house.

Having two of anything is more work than having only one. However, the benefits sometimes outweigh the negative. You wrote that you current Fox Terrier, "doesn't destroy any of your stuff, and happily plays with his toys." Sounds like you have a well socialized pet, and there are no guarantees that another dog you purchase will be as good. However, on the other hand, it is not fair to assume that the new dog will not be as well behaved.

If your dog is lonely, and you want another pet, then I suggest that you find a reputable breeder, one that breeds for temperament, and go for it.

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to answer your question, and please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.  Sincerely, Penny D.
