I want to breed my staffordshire bull terrior but i don't have papers for him, will i still be able to find another dog to breed him with. Please answer my question because i really want to breed him. Thank you

Answer
Hi Lauren.  You don't have to have your dog's papers to breed him.  All you have to do is find someone who owns a female Staffordshire Bull Terrior that wants to breed her with your dog.

The best way to locate a female, is to contact your vet and ask if they have a client that owns a female Staffordshire Bull terrior.  If that doesn't work, you can put an add in the newspaper, pet section.

If you intend on selling the puppies, you might have some problem finding buyers that will pay top dollar for a puppy that is not registered (you will not be able to register the litter, if the father is not registered.)

Because the male dog does all the work, in most cases the female dog is taken to the males home for breeding. This is done to insure that the male feels comfortable, in familiar surroundings, and is able to preform his duty.  You might want to keep this in mind when making your final decision to breed, or not to breed your male.  Are you prepared to have a dog, one that you don't know, in your home.  One that is in heat and could possibly damage your carpet, furniture, etc?

Good luck, and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any additional questions.  Sincerely, Penny D.
