Question
We are recent owners of a 2 month old Carin Terriers, the breeder was feeding him Purina Puppy Chow and providers us with a small bag when we picked up the dog and he has been eating it.  When i went to purchase a bag of the Purina Puppy Chow for him i realized that the first ingredient was ground yellow corn.  Prior to reading up on the carin terriers, it stated that we should not feed them corn and she feed it meat based food.  The purina puppy chow does contain meat as well in the ingredients. I am assuming it is okay since the breed was feeding it to him.  Should i continue feeding him this or should i be feeding him something else.

Answer
I am not sure where you read that you shouldnt feed a carin corn. As far as I am aware of, feeding any dog corn is not a problem. Especially if the breeder has been feeding them this;she obviosuly knows best about the breed. Perhaps you were reading something based on an illiness or certain difficiency in the dog. However, I assure you that corn will not hurt your puppy. It is important to keep your puppy on the same diet it grew up on because switching can cause diahreaha, and that is very bad for the puppy. So rest assured, your puppy can eat corn. it can eat it right off the cob if it wanted too!
