Question
I have a female, black Cairn who is 6 yrs old.  She has been spayed and although very energetic, has a great dispostion, she doesn't have a mean bone in her body.  I am thinking of getting another dog, a new puppy.  I would like to get a male Westie, as I think that would be adorable and I think Kelsey would love being a big sister.  Of course we would make sure she still knows we  love her.  I know the breeds are very similar, but my question is, would it be a good mix?

That's probably a very good choice.  I've often found that choosing an opposite gender dog makes a lot of difference in how they get along.

I know I only foster females because I might well have trouble with my male jack russell if I tried to bring a male of any breed home (unless it was very passive or old).

Just make sure to get your pup from a reputable breeder and not from a pet store.

Have fun ! (I'm too old for puppies anymore)
