Question
Hi there, i have the sweetie little yorkshire and she is 11mons. She is in her first heart from what i know, and my best friend has a 1 1/2 year old shi tzu well let me tell you one min there were playing and the next my little one yelped, now i "always" put a doggie dipper on her and the one day i forgot it she gets pointed. When i ran to see if she was ok the male dog (shi tzu) was locked inside her. So i called the emergency vet number and asked what to do. They told me that i have to leave them there is nothing i can do. To leave the room let them finish. Well i didn't like the thought of that but to see my little baby lying on the floor which i thought in pain but was told she wasn't in pain. Anyways i left the room. They took awhile to get started up again. About 15 -20 mins later she barked and i went back in to is if she was okay and they were down. She wanted water and i washed her behind off as she was all sweaty. Well because she is so small and is only a baby her self i called the vet the every next day to see what i could do. The vet told me to bring her in and he could give her a shot that was like the (morning after pill) which would kill or stop anything from happening . I took her in right away and the shot he gave her was depro provera.  He told me it was 100% but she shouldn't be pregnant  . I asked him what if she was he told me to come back in 4 weeks and he would do x-rays and if she is he would have to cut her open and take out the pups. I told him i hope it doesn't came down to that has she is to young and i don't want her in pain, that i would do anything to keep her from being in pain. He said that is the only other thing that can be done or for her to have the pups. I then asked him well she is to young and to small to have babies isn't she, he said its up to me what i do. SO then i asked him can she die if i let her give birth? He told me she could he doesn't know. I then told him then that isn't an operation  . I don't want any harm to my little girl (pup). So about 4days later i get a mesg from my vet saying he didn't some research and i should come back in for another shot for my pup. I thought to my self that sounds weird, like wouldn't a vet know what to do. I'm sure him not the first person this has happened too.  Well i call in to the vet and i get a different doctor on the phone he tells me the vet that i was dealing with isn't in until the weekend, i told him well i don't think i can wait that long as the longer i wait the more worse things will get. The vet on the phone sounded like he didn't have a clue what to do. Told me to come back in and get the shot again. I asked will that hurt my pup having the same shot twice in one week? he said awwww awwwww awwww no. I then asked are you sure there are no side effects from this shot, he told me awww awww no. At this point all the awwww awwws i knew he didn't really know what he was talking about. I then told him the other vet said only one shot would do nothing at the time when i was there did anyone say to come back for more shots or anything to that matter. All i want to know is what should i do, i don't want pups cause i don't want to take the chance of anything happening to my pup. I just want her to be health and safe. What can i do? AND is my vet from to rip me off? Please help me as if she is pregnant   time is therefor not on my side. Thank you.

Answer
Sorry it took me so long to answer.  My mom is in the hospital.

You CAN get a second or third opinion from another vet in your city.  If you don't want your baby hurt at all then you really need to get her spayed.  This will keep her from going in season and having any unwanted breedings.  I can't tell you how many times I have heard from people that have told me about the panties and breeding.  Those pantie are not a chastity belt.  They will not stop a male dog.  I have actually seen a male breed a bitch through a chain link fence.  SO if there is a will there is a way.
At this point you CAN get her spayed at n harm to her.  The puppies will be aborted and you will have a great little pet there.

 Hope that I have helped.
