Question
hi,
i just brought a 3 month old jack russell terriers. This the first time i own a small puppy. The problem is the dog love to bite on people hand and leg, i dont know he is playing a fool or mean it. Are the way to help, any advise on how to bring up a good dog?

Answer
Biting is completely normal behaviour for a puppy - it is how the litter of puppies communicate with each other and learn to play.  It sounds to me as if you have not researched sufficiently all that is involved in owning a puppy.   There are lots of good books on living with puppies/dogs.  When the puppy bites you must just yelp like a puppy to startle the puppy away and then praise it when it lets go. Terriers especially Jack Russells can be snappy and it is important to educate the puppy in a positive way (no raised voices, smacking).  You really must do more research and consider that perhaps this puppy is too soon for you and take it back to the breeder and then learn what is involved in raising a dog.
