New behaviour by our 3 year old schnauzer, Sammy

About 10 days ago, Sammy developed odd behaviour relating to one room in our house.  This is an upstairs study, where in the past he has loved to spend time with us.  Now, he will come upstairs sometimes during the day, but towards night and at night there is no way he will come up the stairs.  If we manage to get him up here, he heads downstairs very quickly and has developed odd behaviour like sitting in our bath-tub in our bathroom which is at the other end of the house.  This is something he never used to do.  This study does have a computer and tv in it.  Sammy sleeps with us in our bed every night, so we are together with him a lot.  He has a big yard to run in where he can chase birds, rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels etc., and he is a very social dog, who loves people and being with them.

HE COULD OF SEEN A SHADOW THAT HAS FRIGHTENED HIM, TURN OFF ALL LIGHTS BUT ONE IN THE BEDROOM, SEE IF HE GETS OVER IT THIS WAY.
SOMETHING FRIGHTENED HIM AND MOST LIKELY A WEIRD SHADOW ON THE WALL, STEPS, ROOMS, ETC.  DOGS ARE SO FRAGILE AT TIMES ONE NEEDS TO START TO THINK LIKE A DOG TO FIGURE OUT ALL THE PROBLEMS THEY CAN COME UP WITH.  I FEEL IT IS LIGHTING AND SHADOWS, HE COULD BE HAVING AN EYE PROBLEM, U MIGHT WANT TO CHECK HIS SITE BY SNEAKING UP ON HIM AT ONE SIDE THEN THE OTHER, IF HE DOES NOT SEE U, HIS SITE IS BEING EFFECTED BY AGE OR INJURY OR SOMETHING MIGHT OF GOTTEN IN HIS EYE, PUT SOME VISINE IN HIS EYES IT WILL NOT HURT HIM OR HIS HEARING COULD BE GOING.?  CHECK BOTH BY SNEAKING UP ON HIM TO CHECK BOTH. MAYBE CLEAN OUT HIS EARS GOOD TOMORROW, HE MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING IN ONE, OR LOOK AT HIS EYES FOR CLOUDING OR A CAST OVER THEM.
