Question
My 5 month old Yorkie has been eating wood and now he will not eat his food.  Also his last few bowel movements have been small compared to the past and he has not temperature. What can I give him to move that wood out of his system so that he will eat again and what can I do to stop him from eating wood?

Answer
Tiffney -

Take your baby to the vet right away !!  You need xrays and an examination to make sure he does not have splinters or an obstruction.

There is no way to make sure of this at home, and to try very much endangers his life.

There is a product called bitter apple that you can spray onto surfaces to get him to stop chewing them. I also strongly recommend toys like Kongs - you can put a little peanut butter in them and it wil keep him busy chewing on something that won't hurt him.

Let me know how you make out at the vet's
