My Shih Tzus coat

Question
I have a 16 week old female Shih Tzu that I absolutely adore.  I am, however, concerned about her coat. I have two friends who have puppies from this same litter and their coats are very full, thick, and fluffy, whereas my puppy's coat is thin and has a different texture.  I feed her the same dog food as my friends feed their puppies.  Your comments would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Shih Tzu coats can vary even from the same litter.  They can be thin at times, they should be double coated and are sometimes even triple coated.  I have in the past had come across some with very thin coats as well, but it is not as pretty in full coat.. however, if you plan to keep her cut in a puppy cut (short) and are not planning to show her I would not let it concern you.  However, if you purchased her on full registration and planned to breed her than yes I would look into it, that is not something you'd want to carry forward.  Hope this helps
