Question
Actually, I have 3 questions:  1-My black female has white/silver hairs ramdonly throughout her body, black points.
So what color is she? 2-If a red male is bred to a black female, what would the color of puppies probably be?  3-My black male has chocolate highlights when he needs grooming, a chocolate mustache and a brownish cast to him. Which color would he be considered? Black feet. Thank you.

Answer
Hi-
Your first question - your blck femle has white hairs randomly on her body.  She is a black.  Poodles hav to be color bred to keep good true color or you will get broken colors, mismarks and partis. #2 what color of puppies would you expect to get based upon breeding a red male to a blck female - that depends what is behind both of them, black, red, and a host of other colors depending upon what colors both of these dogs are carrying. I wish I had the site handy but there are several sites that you can enter the coat colors of parents and grandparents and it will give you the probobal color combinations in the litters.  It's a very interesting site, detailing percentges etc.  I'll see if I can find it and if so I will post a follow up for you with the site address.  #3 question your black male has chocolate highlights when he needs grooming- he is black. Again poodles have to be color bred to keep there colors true. Coat color genitics is really interesting stuff - again I'll try to find tht site for you when I have some time later today.  Have a great day.
