Question
My AKC purebred toy poodle has been snapping at us the last couple of days if we try to move him.  He seems fine.  His walk is OK.  He isn't limping or favoring any leg.  He is shaking/throbbing on his front leg where it joins his shoulder.  It feels like a irregular heartbeat almost.  It comes and goes.  Otherwise, he has been in excellent health and we are not aware of any injury. His eyes are fine and he hasn't been crying or whimpering.Help!!!I have limited funds for a vet.

Answer
Hello Donna,
Even though your funds are low at the moment, you should probably get your dog looked at.  He could have injured his leg or shoulder without you knowing it and by not finding out what is causing his pain, you could be making things worse for him.
To put your mind at ease, you might just call your Vet and let him know what is going on with your dog to see if he has any suggestions as to what could be wrong.  It won't cost you to call and he may be able to give you some suggestions on what to do for him.

Since I don't know what is going on with your dog even based on what you told me, the only thing that I could suggest would be limited movement and rest for several days.  That means keeping your dog in a crate and only taking him out to go potty and maybe for snuggle time in the evening.  If he seems in noticable pain, you can give him a baby asprin (or a coated 81mg asprin) to help make him feel better.

I wish I could give you more advice, but this is something you really need to see (or at least talk to) a Vet about.
