Question
I am interested in purchasing a mini goldendoodle. There is a breeder in Ontario who has been doing this for a few years now. Should there be concern about a retriever being bred with a mini poodle (vital organs e.g. heart, etc)
Thanks.

Answer
Hello Dianne,
As long as the breeder is responsible and uses a smaller Retriever and an appropriate sized Miniature, then the puppies should be ok.  Most of the time, a dogs organs and such will grow along with the puppy and be appropriate to the dogs size.  Since you say that this breeder has been breeding for a few years now, she probably has some strong Miniature Poodle/Golden Retriever lines.

Be sure that you learn about the father and mother before purchasing so that you know what you are getting.  If there are pictures of the parents/grandparents, try to be able to see them.  That way, you will have an idea of what your puppy will look like.

Good Luck with your new puppy and if you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask.
