Diet for seizures

Question
Hi Kim,
I wrote recently regarding my small poodle who has seizures.  I have started
her on the diet that you have suggested to other people who also have dogs
who have seizures.  The diet has vitamins and nutrients that are good for the
dog.  I made the diet using fresh spinach, the kind that one would eat with a
salad, or that comes in the bag.  Is that okay, or should I use the frozen or
can spinach?  I know this might sound trivial, but I want to make sure I get
the diet right.  Everything else, I  was clear on.  I am about to make another
batch for my dog and want to do it right!
Thank you again,
Wanda

Answer
Hello Wanda,
Any kind of spinach is good, but if you use canned, wash it under cold water to get some of the salt out of it.  Fresh is best, Organic is even better, but be sure to wash it first.  Frozen is the same as fresh, and may be a bit cheaper.  Again, try to get organic if you can.   You can use other greens also such as Broccolii, leafy green Kale, Purple Cabbage, or even turnip greens (cooked until they are soft and blended in with the food.

Good for you for taking care of your dog and she will be more healthy for it.

Again, if you have other questions for me, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for your questions,
Kim
