vaginal dermatitis

Question
I have a 9 yr. old white spayed poodle.  She continuously licks her vaginal area it seems right after urination.  She will come in the house and quickly sits down like something is hurting or maybe burning her.  She then will lick herself to the point where she is red swollen and irritated.  I had her to 3 diff. vets.  I had a diagnosis of either vaginitis or contact dermatitis.  She has also been on antibiotics.  She is currently on tritop, because my regular vet thinks that it is dermatitis.  I keep a no-lick collar on her and apply the oitment 2/day.  It seems as though it kinda clears up but not entirely.  But as soon as I remove the collar, the whole process starts all over again.  This has been going on ever since she was spayed at 6 months old.  Is there anything I can do?  I also want to mention that when this first started happening, she had a UTI and I took her to the vet and he did a urinalyis on her.  She had struvite crystals and he put her on special dogfood for a couple months with shifted the ph of her urine.  I anaylzed her urine and found that she had calcium oxalate crystals because her urine ph was below 7.  After she was taken off of the special diet, I did another urine check and the ph was then 7 and she had both kinds of crystals.  At that point, I changed dogfood altogether.  Her urine is now crystal free but she still has the redness and swelling around the vaginal opening and am now unable to determine what it is from or how I can relieve the discomfort.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Marcy

Answer
The only suggestion I can come up with is to try what I have when mine are that way.  I get some Monistat cream and rub it on the areas - it seems to lessen the itch. They lick some of it off but it doesn't seem to hurt them.

That is the only suggestion I have. Good luck hon!
