Question
My room mate's lab has an eating problem. Whenever he's given his dry kibble, he gobbles it down so fast that he makes himself vomit shortly after eating. We tried soaking his food in hot water and putting a large ball in his bowl like the vet suggested, but he still ate too fast. The only thing that's worked is hand feeding him which just takes too much time to do on a regualr basis. Do you have any recommendations?

Answer
That is a common problem with Labs.  I have know of ones being named Hoover, Kirby, and Eureka.  There are a couple of fixes, a variation of the vet's ball is to put a few large rocks in the bowl.  The other thing is to spread it out, on a cookie sheet or something.  Both methods work very well, keeping the dog from gulping down one large bite full after another.
