Question
I think that my my chocolate lab is in heat. She going to turn 1 year old on July 21st. She has been really sleepy lately and she is most of the time really playful. She has been acking like this for about 2 days. Now i have seen some clear stuff coming out of her back end and also some blood. I have a male lab and he has been following her everywhere and licking her back end,but he has been fixed. I want my chocolate lab to have puppies in the future, so i am not planing on fixing her till she has 1 litter of puppies.I have also seen that she has been doing to the bathroom a lot more too. If you can help me that would be wonderful thank you Taylor!

Answer
The second and third weeks are when the most risk of accidental breeding is. Don't take this lightly. She will do anything to get loose and get to a male. Once loose, an accidental breeding and an unwanted litter is far from the worst that can happen. Such breedings can also result in fatal infections. She can get killed when she dashes heedlessly across the road in front of a car. Other dogs or coyotes may kill her.

You can expect the same thing about every 6 months for the rest of her life if you don't go ahead and get her spayed. There is no other answer, and no good reason not to. Asking this question tells me you haven't begun the work it takes to do quality breeding.  Please don't add to our problems.  Besides saving the hassles, spaying reduces the chances of cancer later in life. Please make life easier for yourself, her, and society in general by getting her spayed as soon as a vet will do it.
