My chocolate labs behavioral problems

Question
My chocolate lab, Remy, just turned 1 about 2 weeks ago. Lately, she has been getting into the trash, chewing our couch, and the rest of the house apart. When I come home, she obviously feels horrible about it, cowering and peeing on the floor because she's so nervous. She's always been a bit nervous and usually approaches people with her tail between her legs. I crate trained her until she was about 8 months and up until she turned 1 she seemed fine. So, I'm putting her out on the run during the day, but when it rains, I'm putting her back in the crate. Is that Ok? Is there something I could do to stop this without having to confine her to a run or a crate? Thanks!
Rachel

Answer
It is the best solution.  It may be more habit, than anything else, but I don't even leave my 12 year old Lab loose in the house when I can't watch her.

Have you obedience trained her?  It helps build confidence.  If she isn't spayed or come into season yet, this could be part of the flaky behavior that accompanies it.
