Breeding our yellow lab

20 9:45:22

Question
My yellow lab is a 2 1/2 year old male.  He is an indoor dog.  He has been wonderful in the house and has become a great companion to me.  We had not neutered him yet because my boyfried was hoping to breed him at some point.  The problem is that this would be our first time doing so and we are not very educated.  If we breed Brooks, will it change his personality and behavior in the house (uninating inside and such)?  We have an opportunity to breed soon...I intend to keep him indoors with me no matter what the decision is on breeding, but I want a pleasant house and happy dog to come home to.  Should we give this a try?

Answer
Hello, I am really unsure if it would alter his not peeing inside I'm shocked he doesn't lift his leg inside now! Breeding him to a bitch say once or even twice a year isn't likely to start making him pee in your house and shouldn't alter his temperament at all...I would go to the bitches house with him a few times during her cycle(don't leave your dog there) as opposed to having the bitch stay at your house for a few days....as if her smell is in your house he will lift his leg everywhere so take him to meet the bitch a few times during her heat they should tie at lest once to confirm the breeding.
