Question
I have a female lab,not even a year old, who is bleeding.  Do dogs menstruate, and if so, would it start this young?  Also, could this be a possible sign of pregnancy?

Answer
YES female dogs have heat cycles and yes they produce a discharge at this time the first cycle in any female can be between 6-10 months of age...when the discharge turns clear or yellow beware she will try to escape your yard and be sure ot walk her ON leash only during her cycle or she will get pregnant and no dog should be bred until she is on her Third heat cycle and laos I don't condem breeding for no good reason.
