Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever

Sir,

I want to get a family dog which is non-aggressive, playful with both children and adults, and which is an ideal family dog. I'm a little confused on whether I should buy a Labrador Retriever puppy of a Golden Retriever puppy. I've read that Golden Retrievers and high maintainance dogs who are very risky and prone to illness, and which requires a hell lot of a care. In comparison, I've read that Labrador Retrievers are easy to care for and requires less care than the Golden Retrieveers. Which one of the two would you personally recommend ? Please reply.

Hello, Well I own a labrador retiever she is going on 4 this year and is wonderufl loves my little neices and newfew thou will bowl them over with her kisses...she will even let the older ones(1 & 2) pet her and what not and she will not even think of hurting them if she feels they are being too rough she will get up and walk away for a bit thats it. She loves the other dogs i have and is always been gentle with other small pets I've had including my three lovebirds I still have....she would sniff the one while he was on my shoulder and then be off after she got bitten lol but she does not like strange dogs or cats and is wary of strangers but makes a fine watch/guard dog thou I doubt she would ever full out attack she does put up a fuss when someone is passing the backyard running and jumping/barking until there out of sight. I've had Haylie since she was 3 months old and have found the breed to be very enjoyable to live with. My friend has a godlen ret X with a lab ret and I do not like her personaility or temperment one bit she is snappy with kids and rough at times with cats she also is overly clingy and will lay right on your lap when your sitting down or sit beside you trying to lick you... I highly reccomend the labrador retiever as a family dog.
