What high horse are you trying to mount?

Question
QUESTION: Where do you get off giving so called "expert" advice when it comes to rescue, aggressive, or not so perfect "for show" dogs?
Your handing out some serious advice to novice great dane owners. They are looking to you {being the dumb professional that you are} for some guidance. You have told them to put down their not so perfect great danes??? And given out some very ignorant advice.
WTF...........
My dane could never stand in a dog show. She is a Harlequin/Mantle/Brindle with ice blue eyes. She goes against every rule in the show books and my vet thought she was at the least deaf or blind. She is neither. She has shown bone aggression and it was stopped, and I have children. She is Hyper and Crafty. She finds a different way around 'no' everyday. THAT is the breed.
But yet even though her, herself goes against every rule in the show book I am asked every time I bring her in public if I would breed her and if they could buy a puppy from HER offspring. She is a purebred and is AKC registered. I am even asked from people who have bred, showed, and grown up with danes because she is such a beautiful, one of a kind dane.
There are problems you have to conquer with some danes/dogs in general. They are not born perfect. And sometimes they don't have perfect lives, but that doesn't mean they're worthless just because they're not show quality.

ANSWER: The objective of breeding should be to eliminate potential problems and aim for strong healthy animals.  Breeding from substandard specimens is reinforcing the problems which will be passed on to future generations of breeders who may be novices.  My concern is for future generations.  What is yours?  The health and welfare of the animals should be the first priority.

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: The health and the welfare of the danes and or dogs of the present are my main priority. Owners are asking your advice about danes that have behavior problems. Not about their markings and how they should act in a dog show. You are telling novice dane owners that have simple breed hurtles to put their dogs down, instead of telling them exactly how to solve their problems. If you don't know how to solve the problem then don't answer. Instead you are putting fear into people who should be confident pack leaders to dogs that they would have no problem controlling with the right guidance.

Answer
I don't recalltelling anyone to put a healthy dog down.  A dane that is aggressive is a danger to children as well as adults and a novice will not be able to train the aggression out of the dog.  I do know how to solve the problem but without having it to train I can't explain to anovice what has to be done.  If you are so clever you tell them how to train an aggressive dane and send me a copy for my education.
