Hi there, I have a 7 month old male dane. We had a female prior so we have dane experience. However our new one, Bishop , is having a problem I think. I haven't taken him to the vet yet as I don't want to spend $3000 prematurely. Last week or so I woke up at 3am and he was having trouble standing up. It was almost like his right side was asleep. When he tried to get up he was stumbling and weak. I thought he had a stroke or something. The next morning he was totally fine and has been ever since so I assumed it was just his legs were asleep. But today he is unsteady on his feet again. Especially on our kitchen floor where its more slippery but he is on it all the time so it's not that. He seems like he has weakness. I've never heard of this and he is so young. Any idea?
AnswerI have spoken to some people and they have said you should see a vet because the symptoms sound more like Wobbler's Syndrome then HOD or Pano, this is something that requires surgery, is expensive, time consuming and not curable.
