HEY THIS IS MY FIRST TIME WITH A FEMALE DOG THAT IS NOT FIXED , WEHAVE A MALE ALSO . HE IS THREE AND SHE IS 14MONTHS. SHE HAD A CYCLE , HOWLOG DO THEY NORMALLY LAST AND HOW OFTEN DO THEY GET THEM. I SAM THEM HAVE SEX AFTE SHE WAS  DONE BLEEDING , AND SHE GET PRGNANT THEN?  I DIDNT NOTICE ANYTHING BUT THE BIG BLOOD SPOTS THAT STARTED SHOWING UP ON THE RUG THEN I PUT A DIAPER ON HER FOR LIKE 2 WEEKS. IF SHE IS PREGNANT  HOW LONG IS IT FOR DOGS AND HOW MANY DO GOLDENS NORMALLY HAVE ? THE MALE WAS SO DUMB  ALL I EVER SAW HIM DO WAS PUT HIS PENIS IN AND STAND THERE. CAN SHE GET PREGNANT LIKE THAT? IT WAS JUST WIERD AND I AM NOT UP ON DOGS WE NORMALLY ONLY HAVE ONE. WE GOT MAX 3 YERS AGO AND MAGGIE FOR X MAS LAS YEAR SO ONE IS FORM VEGAS AND ONE IS FORM HERE , WE AE MILITARY AND RETIRING HERE.. I JUST DONT WANT TO MAKE A MISTAKE AND HURT THEM OR I WILL JUST GO HAVE THEM FIXED . BUT THEY HAVE THE BEST DISPOSISTION...I LOVE THEM AND THEY ARE SO SWEET.. From the first bleeding until the last of the discharge usually lasts about 3 weeks with the swelling of the vulva beginning and ending before and after.  Do not bath her until the swelling is completely down.  Most females come in season about every 6 months, although a pregnancy can delay it a month.  The most fertile period is about 2 weeks after the first discharge.  The female will refuse to allow the male to mate except in her fertile period.  Gestation averages 63 days, and Goldens often have large litters, 10-12.  That is normal for dogs and she may be pregnant.  There is no way to be sure until about a month.  It might be good to have a vet check her then.  Lots can go wrong, you don't want to lose her.  

Do as much research as you can.  Dogs can have puppies without human help, but a knowledgeable person can fix problems.  Best thing is to find a book.  Anything from the library is better than nothing.  Also see www.akc.org.  

Goldens are really great dogs.  I never had one of my own, but see many of my friends.  One of my favorite dogs is a 12 year old male Golden that belongs to friends.  Everybody loves him.
