Dogs ears

Question
I noticed that my dachshund has a black scabs along the outside of his ears only at the bottoms though. Is there anything I can do about this? I also noticed that he doesn't seem to really be drinking any of his water I put out for him so I didn't know if it had something to do with that. And on another subject do you know of any better collars than harnesses for this type of dog due to their backs. I've noticed that mine seems to be losing his hair on his lower chest and under his arms where the harness sits.

There is a place on the internet that sells custom made harnesses especially for doxies.  I have halters but I take them off when they are in the house.  Search on the internet.  Try rubbing some vitamin E on the end of his ears.  It might be painful so he needs treatment.  You can also take him to your vet to be checked.  If he is not drinking that is cause for concern.  Try giving him water in a raised bowl so that his ears do not touch it when he drinks.  If he is not drinking, get him to the vet asap.
