How can i stiomy bulldog jumping up at people

QUESTION: Hi, every time we have company come to the house our bulldog Sasha jumps up at them jumps on the settee and basically just goes mad. I end up frustrated and fed up. I have tried putting her in another room to calm her down but she just goes mad and barks. The only way i have found to calm her is by putting her on her lead. It then takes her about 10 mins to calm down. Is there any other way i can stop her bad behavior. I also have problems sometimes when we sit on the settee to watch TV she will start barking quite ferocious and nipping my feet. I try to ignore her but she just carries on. Again putting her on the lead is the only thing that calms her down. She is far from a viscous dog just very irritating at times. Thanks for any advise you can give me.

ANSWER: Take the dog to obedience classes so you can gain some respect from her. Put some effort into training the dog and you'll find she's much easier to live with.

QUESTION: Thanks but i have already been to classes were she learnt to sit etc. She will do all these commands unless i am in the situation i mentioned last then she seems to just loose any sense at all. She has already damaged the ligament in her leg which has just been operated on through her mad behavior. I will try classes again but they didn't seem to progress into anything that would solve my problem last time. Thanks

Apparently you have one of what I refer to as the "ADHD Bulldogs" who are so hyper they are not only very hard to train but very hard to live with.

See if you can find a behaviorist in your area who might be able to help you with this. If she's not spayed, that might help. If she's not spayed, I wouldn't consider breeding a dog with these issues.
