Epilepsy?

Question
I think my cat has epilepsy. She has a siezure whenever she is put in stressful situations. I'm not sure how to handle this problem or how to help prevent these siezures. Can you help?

Answer
Hi Jericha! Your cat will definitely need to see your veterinarian to see why she is having siezures.  It is not normal for an animal to have siezures, and every time they siezure, it causes brain cells to be killed and their temperatures to rise very high.  Your veterinarian will be able to pin point exactly what is causing these siezures through blood work and possibly other diagnostic procedures.  Your cat will then be placed onto an anti-convulsant drug like Phenobarbital.
I hope this helps and please keep me posted!
