Question
I would like to know if there are any side effects for my dog taking SMZ-TMP tablets for some type of urinary tract infection involving e-coli bacteria. Thanks!

SMZ-TMp is Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, a very good anti-biotic for skin, lung and bladder infections.

I take it myself for lung infections and have never had a side effect. I have not seen them in dogs either, but of course every drug has its effects.
Most veterinarians feel it is a very safe drug and I have to concur with my own experience.
