Question
Hi!
I took my kitten today to operate (esterilization)... and my sister took her home, so I couldn't ask if I have to take her to a vet to take away the stitches or they fall down by themselves ... what should I do?
-THANKS-

Answer
Well it depends on what kind of stitches they are. Most vets these days use desovable stiches on the inside and staples on the outsite or some stitches that need removed. Definitly call your vets office and check with them as they can get infected if you leave them in when they are suposed to be taken out. They could also grow into the skin and become more painful to remove if you don't get them taken out in time. Most are left in for 10 days. Don't attempt to remove any stitches yourself as this could be dangerous to the kitten. They have special tools that they use and are trained for that. A simple call to your vets office will let you know if and when they should be removed. I hope this helped. Have a good night.
