Question
Dear Dr.Fry,
I have a beautiful red and white female husky. For some reason she has started to attack my other dogs. I have bought a muzzle for right now because she is so very aggressive. I don't want to get rid of her but I can't have her attacking my other dogs. She has not been spayed yet and she is only attacking the other females. I don't plan on breeding her. Would getting her fixed, in turn fix the problem? I am desperate! I love her so much! She will be a year old in December.

Answer
Yes I would recommend having her spayed as well as the others.  Hormones can do horrible things.  She is also at that age where she is starting to become socially mature and testing the waters.  A muzzle will not solve the problem and could make her worse.  If they are fighting over treats or food, then separate them during feeding and treat times.  I would make an appt with the vet for an examination, bloodwork (to check for any underlying problems) and then have her spayed.  If the aggression continues, she will need behavior modification therapy and possible medication.
