Keeping cat indoors

Question
We have 2 cats and one was raised as a farm cat until it was 6 months.  He is our trouble maker.  We try to keep our cats indoors but our trouble maker manages to make a break for it a couple times a month.  He is irratatingly sneaky.  Matter of fact he was gone for 3 days the last time he made it out.  He also whines endlessly to go outside.  He is very stubborn and has gone as far as urinating on clothing and furniture to make his point.  I feel I am in a war of wills with this cat and am ready to give in.  He is also a bad influence on our other cat which has now managed to sneak out as well.  How do you break a cat of this?

Answer
I don't think that you can break a cat of this, cats crave adventure and they know its outside.  You can try putting the cat in a room with a door when your opening the door.  Or maybe provide the kitten with tons of toys ones that you can daggle from the doorway in your house and maybe provide a nice window he can look out at,  a cat tree will help too since cats also crave high escapes.  Thats all i can think of, i hope it helps
