QuestionMy 2 small Shih Tzu are slightly overweight and I want to control the gain before they become heavy. They are 8 and 13 pounds, both are less than two yrs old. They play a lot and walk at least 2 miles 6 day/wk. I recently changed them from Science Diet adult small kibble to a 50/50 blend of that and the same brand diet kibble. They have so many bowel movements now that I can't believe that is good for them. Which lower calorie food do you recommend for less stool? Thanks for you answer.
AnswerHello Jera: I would not use the Science Diet - too many fillers in it.
How about we go to Innova Adult and Innova Senior Formula...Mix the two of them 50/50.. You will need to do this slowly...
Go with your old mix 1/2 the amount and do the NEW Innova Mix 1/2 the amount for 2 weeks. Then, go total Innova Mix - YOU will be feeding less Innova and see smaller poops. Innova is condensed goodness!!! GREAT stuff.
You can also treat them to some Innova Canned - one teaspoon on top of the dry food - every OTHER day.
Also, let's get the started on NuVET Plus - Excellent for a Healthy Immune System - Will help to keep the weight off of them.. GREAT in the Digestion Process.

They will need One Wafer treat per day - Cost is about .55 cents per day, per doggie.
