Question
i have 2,4 month old pit bull puppies (brothers) one of them is not acting like he is feeling well. He wont eat and will barely get up and move around. we have coaxed him to eat and follow us or his brother around but he just doesn't seem interested! He was caught with a fish hook in his lip earlier today that i caught the neighbor kid throwing over the fence but it was removed with no problems. He is also grinding his teeth could he be cutting teeth and is mouth be sore or should I be more concerned about another hook? I have looked as far as i can down his throat and felt all around on his belly and he doesn't seem to be in any pain.

Answer
At four months old he is losing his molars and getting in his adult teeth, so that can make them feel punk, but most dogs never feel a thing.
What kind of vaccination history do these dogs have? My first concern would be parvo virus because they start acting dumpy right before the vomiting and diarrhea start.

There is no way of knowing what else he might have "eaten" that was thrown over the fence by the neighbors kid. Could have eaten some nasty bait, or a lure or whatever else.

If he isn't better I would consult first the kid and his parents and make him fess up what he threw over the fence then based on that I would call you local vet and get him in for xrays.

If he starts having diarrhea or vomiting then call the vet right away. They incubate parvo for 7-10 days and it is an extremely hardy virus that you can carry in on your shoes. These dogs at this age are very prone to getting it, sometimes regardless of vaccination history.

But I would start with the kid next door and do some investigation.
