Kitten suddenly not eating and having loose stools

Question
I've had my kitten for several weeks now and he's been a joy. He's about 3 months at this writing. He's always been a very sweet boy and cuddly, his disposition hasn't changed a bit but in the last two days his eating definitely has.

Magnus usually sits at my feet and meows while i make his food and wolfs down a good portion as soon as I put his bowl down. But yesterday he was meowing like usual and suddenly vomitted on the floor. It was all clear liquids with bubbles, slightly milky, although we dont give him milk. he barely touched his food after that and later in the day had a very loose, liquidy stool. After the stool he dragged his butt on his paw mat to clean his but and meowed kind of pathetically.

This morning he wouldn't touch his food. He sat there meowing like he was hungry, ran to the bowl when i put it down but then just ate the tiny bit of the wet food. I left it out for him, but when i got home from work he still hadn't eaten. i can't tell if he's drinking. he never drinks much.

I'm really worried about him but would like to avoid a vet bill if possible (this little recession has hit our family hard).

We feed him science diet kitten formula. He gets a 1/4 cup dry and a 1/4 can wet every morning and another 1/4 cup dry in the evening.

Should i try canned tuna? Might it be worms?

Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi Bethany- If you have a pet store near by please pick up the following:
1.  Bene Bac - this is a probiotic for his belly
Follow the directions on the tube.
2.  Kitten Wormer - you can get one at the local pet store... Many cats get round worms.

If not better after the above options, please call the vet and bring a stool sample.  Good Luck
Hope this helps!
