my puppy breathing like there is a hairball in his throat.

This question doesn't help me much. How old is he? Is he asleep when he breathes this way? Was he playing? Is he choking, gagging, coughing? Is he a pug, a bulldog, a lab, a chihuahua??

Either write back with the answers or take your dog in to see a vet if his breathing is labored.
The younger they are, the faster they need to see a vet. Don't wait.
