FIP or not?

Question
Our 13 year old cat, Freddie Cougar, was diagnosed with wet form of FIP (very high titers) in early June.   He had runny nose, congestion, breathing hard, sneezing, slight fever and generally looked and felt bad, except he never lost that spark in his eyes.  (We had lost a  cat to FIP several years ago that died within 2 weeks of being diagnosed and the symptoms looked similar.)   Tests came back positive for FIP.   We separated our  other 2 cats from Freddie and figured he might  not make it through the week we had to go to the hospital for my  husband to have major intestinal surgery. (We were gone 8 days). Freddie  was left in the care of our neighbors.   When we came back,  the cat  actually looked better, in fact within a short time his runny nose, sneezing went completely away and he never lost his appetite, in fact he  eats like a pig. We still keep the other cats away from him just to be safe but could there have been a misdiagnosis? Or is the cat still infected/sick but without signs of  FIP?  They say a cat can hang on for months with FIP but wouldn't they have symptoms of FIP and generally go downhill rather than get better?  Other than an occasional sneeze, he has  no congestion, runny nose or fever, breathing regular; He just does not look sick.  What do you suggest?

Answer
Hi Susan : He most likely is not just a carrier of the FIP.  Still shoud be kept away from the other cats because of his "carrier" status.  You mentioned that the test was positive for FIP.

Glad to hear he is much better with only mild symptoms.  He could live many years as a carrier of this disease.  If the disease becomes FULL Blown again, he would have less than 2 years, at the most.
So He is a lucky FREDDIE right now!

A suggestion would be to put Freddie on some Vitamin E (1) 50IU per day... Also, some NuVET Plus FEline Formula for his immune system.
Both suggestions would be great for Freddie's long term health.
Here is the link for the NuVET Feline:  Please make sure he gets some every day - ONLY about .55 cents per day for the NuVET
All the cats can have NuVET Feline each day!
ONLY sold by breeders, vets, and kennels - Buy from the Manufacturer and save:  Give order code 81098 / They can't sell to the public without a breeder's code.

BEST wishes with your little boy!  Sounds like he may continue to strengthen his immune system and fight this off... AS you know, there is no cure for this.
